History


Alicia's father Jacob died when his partner - Philip Masters, the Puppet Master- prisoner of the resentmen, decided to destroy the laboratory where they worked. Jacob tried to stop him, but in the fight he was killed and Philip blew up the laboratory. Without his knowledge, Alicia and her mother, Marcia, had accompanied Jacob to the laboratory. In the explosion, Alicia was blinded, and Marcia died when she inhaled toxic gas. Feeling remorseful, Philip adopted the girl and swore at all costs to restore her vision, without success.

Alicia moved with her adopted father to Manhattan, and studied in a special school for the blind. Soon, Alicia discovered her passion for sculpture. Unfortunately, during that time Philip became completely mentally unbalanced, and tried to use a special clay for his own benefit. He forced Alicia to be made happen through the Invisible Girl, but she was rebelled against him and she became a friend of the Fantastic Four. Alicia felt specially interested by Ben Grimm, not by his appearance but his personality, and maintained a strong relationship.

When a fan asked Stan Lee for Alicia's surname, Lee admited he never thought about that, and organized a contest so that the fans could define Alicia's surname. "Masters" was chosen because she is the daughter of the Puppet Master.
