Synopsis for "Captives of the Deadly Duo!"

Doctor Doom and the Sub-Mariner team up but when Doom sends the Baxter Building into space with the Sub-Mariner and the F.F. in it Subby teams up with the F.F. against Doom. Together they defeat Doom and get the Baxter Building back down to Earth.

Notes

• The Baxter Building is revealed to be the formal name of the Fantastic Four's headquarters in this issue.
• The Fantastic Four's costumes are noted as being made to withstand the extreme conditions of space, requiring only the addition of a space helmet. They are also said to be made from Unstable Molecules, which are mentioned for the first time in this issue.
• Mister Fantastic, the Invisible Girl, the Human Torch and the Thing all last appeared in Fantastic Four #5; They all appear next in Fantastic Four #7.
• Doctor Doom last appeared in Fantastic Four #5; He appears next in Defenders (Vol 2) #10.
• The Sub-Mariner last appeared in Fantastic Four #4; He appears next in in Fantastic Four #9.

Trivia

• Doctor Doom adopts a new set of armour this issue that (with minor modifications as Jack Kirby's artistic style continued to develop) will see him through his next several appearances. While this armour is very similar to his "classic" outfit (introduced in Fantastic Four Annual #2), Doom's cloak has a single clasp, whereas the former has two clasps.
• Kristoff Vernard revisits Doom's plot from this issue, with considerably more success in Fantastic Four #278.
