History

Nathaniel Richards was about to be involved in a serious accident when Kang appeared and saved him. The future warlord was attempting to manipulate the young man's past to ensure he would become the Kang of his timeline.

Iron Lad rebelled, journeying to the present time. He found that the current Avengers had been disbanded. For unknown reasons his time machine would not allow him to reach an earlier time period. He was able to locate the Vision's CPU in Stark Industries. The CPU contained a database of potential young heroes to contact in case of emergency. Iron Lad then formed the Young Avengers, knowing that Kang would soon arrive.

Despite Kang's defeat, it seems that young Nathan is destined to become the conqueror regardless of his actions. He returned to his future, thanking the other Young Avengers for at least trying to change what seems like inevitable destiny.

Paraphernalia

Equipment: Iron Lad uses a neurokinetic armour apparently designed by Kang. This armor responds to its wearers thoughts and emotions almost instantaneously. It is capable of forming various weapons somewhat similar to that of Iron Man as well as being able to alter its appearance and shape. For example, it might manifest spikes if someone tried to grab it.

Iron Lad has also uploaded the AI of The Vision into the armor. It has currently reconfigured itself into a form similar to Vision's. As Iron Lad's neuro-kinetic armour responds to his thoughts, this enables him to:

• Time travel
• Fly
• Override security systems
• Expel destructive energy blasts, magnetic rays, fire-extinguishing foam and is capable of suspending matter in mid-air
• Project holographic images masking Iron Lad's true appearance
• Download/upload massive amounts of data with its complex hard drive
