Can an admin update the tag to include

[[Category:Disambiguation pages]]

so that these pages will not appear at the Special:Uncategorizedpages. I am attempting to categorize these pages.

Glad you noticed!

It is actually a software bug and has already been brought to the developer's attention. It will probably be fixed for the next software release. You won't need to categorize the disambig pages as they will appear here. (Which ALSO has a software bug showing several pages NOT containing the {{disambig}} tag. So many bugs, so little time...  :(
