Two men currently claim the mantle of Captain America in mainstream continuity. James Barnes does so working, unofficially, for S.H.I.E.L.D. and with blessing of their director Tony Stark. Former Grand Director Steven Rogers has been revived by the Red Skull and brainwashed by Dr. Faustus into believing himself to be the official Captain America.

The Captain America of Earth-1298 was an unnamed Mutant who took up the mantle of Captain America after the original was killed in a Sentinel attack on Avengers Mansion. This Captain joined up with the Six, and helped protect mutants from SHIELD. Powers & Abilities: Related Articles:
